Flash Flood Warning for Acadia and Jefferson Davis Parishes Through 9:30 AM

Acadia Parish and Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana — A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for west central Acadia Parish and east central Jefferson Davis Parish through 9:30 AM Central Time on Sunday, November 1, after thunderstorms dropped heavy rain across southwestern Louisiana.
What is happening: The National Weather Service in Lake Charles issued the warning at 6:34 AM Central Time. Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area, with between 3 and 5 inches of rain already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Local impacts: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses is possible. Low-lying roads and areas near creeks can flood quickly while heavy rain continues.
What to do: Turn around, don't drown — never drive through a flooded road. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Move to higher ground if water starts rising near you. Stay tuned to the National Weather Service and TNW News for updates.
