Blizzard Warning for Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills Through 10 PM Friday
Nulato, Alaska —
## What is happening:
The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills, in effect from 10 AM to 10 PM Friday, Alaska time. A strong storm will push into the region Friday, whipping up the little snow that falls into full blizzard conditions along the Norton Sound coast and the Nulato Hills.
## Local impacts:
Forecasters expect snow accumulations of up to 2 inches, but the wind is the real danger — gusts as high as 60 miles per hour will drive blowing snow and drop visibility below a quarter of a mile. Travel could become very difficult, and very strong winds could knock out power in some areas.
## What to do:
- Travel should be restricted to emergencies only.
- If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you.
- If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
- Charge phones and devices now in case power goes out.
